Position Description:
Responsibilities (Deliverables):
This individual will be responsible for translating business requirements and functional designs into technical designs, code development and unit testing.
This individual will work with a team under the guidance of a Tech Lead but must be highly motivated to work independently on their own assignments and meet the deadlines given them.
They will work with Analysts, Tech Lead and QA to develop new code and to analyze and resolve defects.
Most of the work will be new code development and modifications for project work but they will also be expected to participate in production support activities from time to time, including on-call rotation.
Required Skillset:
Bachelor's degree with at least 5+ years experience as a UNIX &/or database programmer
Experienced in all phases of SDLC
Ability to work with a geographically dispersed team
Highly motivated and productive with minimal assistance
Ability to multi-task across several projects and meet multiple (sometimes concurrent) deadlines
Ability to work with business analysts to understand requirements.
Experienced in translating business requirements into technical design and code.
Ability to understand complex database modeling and data mapping.
Experience with Oracle 10g, Perl, Unix Korn shell scripting, vi editor, & Toad
Well versed in Oracle 10g analytic functions such as model clause, query optimization, explain plans, parallelism, and other such advanced topics
Deep understanding of the care and feeding required for a partitioned database of 2+ TB.
Experienced in batch processes required to support a large fortune 500 financial organization.
Additional Capabilities Needed: NICE TO HAVE
Brokerage experience
Knowledge of performance reporting |
